Come try Krav Maga on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 10am with Bill Martin. Learn self protection, self defense while getting fit! No martial arts or sporting background required, all are welcome.
Krav Maga (“contact combat”) is an eclectic hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel and originally derived from street-fighting skills developed by Imi Lichtenfeld. The physical training is a mix of an aerobic and anaerobic workout with a strong focus on high intensity interval training. Scenarios are used to train students for various situations and training also covers situational awareness to develop an understanding of one’s surroundings and potentially threatening circumstances before an attack occurs. Its also covers ways to deal with potentially violent situations, and physical and verbal methods to avoid violence whenever possible.
Bill has a background in Kyokyushinkai Karate, boxing, Aikido and Krav Maga. He holds a black belt in Krav Maga and is instructor certified. He is also a veteran and has served in the U.S. Army/Army Reserve. He attained the rank of Major.
